Conservatives: What a bunch of arrogant, pompous in-breeders. While they've cannibalized and euthanized their own party repeatedly (Progressive Conservative -> Reform -> Alliance -> CCRAP -> Conservative), they actually think they can "destroy" the one party most Canadians can relate to (policy-wise, and being "of the center", rather than one of the wings, left or right)...
This CTV story (which I was kindly directed to by a blogger on this site) outlines just how delusional these people are. No wonder they can believe the earth is only 6000 yrs old, or that man walked with dinosaurs (or looks good in a wetsuit for a press conference), or believe that global warming isn't happening, or believe that everyone (immigrants, minorities, women, First Nations, commies, "left-tards", educated people ("elitists"), bureaucrats, diplomats, democrats...) is out to get them.
Time for this Western-based "Reform-a-Tory" protest movement (bowel movement?) to end... But, we'll be patient... We want to hear the commissions and inquiries. We want the public to hear about the Cons cheating on the last election. We want them to hear about "In and Out". We want everyone to see the results of Conservative fiscal mis-management.
Meanwhile, their pompous rants are making the public think they're the very worst kind of "overgrown" children...
See this laugher of a story here...

lol, looks like you just blew a few gaskets. Even if you don't like Harper.............you must concede he is brilliant, it will be fun watching the new parties that will form after Dion's loss (according to Ms. Cleo), at the minimum there will be two I suspect............Team Ignatieff and Team Rae. I have a hunch Rae (hard left) will try to merge with the NDP, and alienate a fair number of anti liberal NDP's, thus making another split (NDP split). The left will be unreconizable at the end of it all. Of course, this is just my wild speculation, not trying to make you cry any more or anything, just toying with the possibilities.
Cheers!
Babs... Your lack of understanding of the Liberal Party (the Cons as a whole suffer from this ignorance) doesn't allow you to see that being moderate, with a "big tent" attitude isn't going to allow the Liberal Party to go anywhere. Our very nature of accepting differences keeps us together, and keeps the party under the big tent...
A party with the number of seats we have, and the decades of stable tradition isn't going anywhere. The right split because of the extreme nature of their ideologies... The left (Green from NDP) suffered the same challenges. The Center remains careful and reflective - and certainly not ready to self-immolate..
Cheerio...
"Our very nature of accepting differences keeps us together, and keeps the party under the big tent."
Hmmmm that comment is thrown out the window by your post.
I will save all your minions time by posting the "names" they would have trotted out in response to my comment.
C#@t
braying cart horse
screeching harridan
idiot
stupid cow
I am sure there are a multitude more, but I just wanted to point out the hypocrisy of your thinking.
Our very nature of accepting differences keeps us together, and keeps the party under the big tent...
Really?
Conservatives: What a bunch of arrogant, pompous in-breeders.
Right..lol
Liberal logic working overtime.

"We want the public to hear about the Cons cheating on the last election. We want them to hear about "In and Out". "
I thought we have been hearing about this for over a year now.
Do we really need a bunch of kangaroos to explain to the people what has been known for a year?
LOL.
ALgirl... I'm seeing those words typed by a conservative... It would typically be a right-wing hatemonger that uses such language (racist, sexist, etc.). While some of you don't see or understand the difference, there IS a difference between a simple insult (calling someone stupid, arrogant, pompous, in-breeders, etc.) which doesn't single out any one group for further hatred, vs. racist or sexist, or gender/race/physical ability-specific attacks or comments, which can lend to further discrimination or violations of rights.
Call me all the names you want... just don't start calling me sexist or racist ones... There IS a difference, but conservatives prefer not to learn that... Rather, they will cry, "too much political-correctness"...
Jonathon: Your party officially says that "in and out" is "too complicated" for the Canadian public to understand, and you have a few in the media believing this (well, at least they used to - they're coming around now...). Now you're trying to tell us that we don't need "a bunch of kangaroos" telling us how it worked? Which one is it?
I think it is the Oppositions' responsibility to hold committee hearings to ensure that Canadians can understand properly this "complicated matter"...
; )
"ALgirl... I'm seeing those words typed by a conservative... It would typically be a right-wing hatemonger that uses such language (racist, sexist, etc.)."
They may have been typed by a Conservative, but I have been called them by various left wing commenters.
So put your arrogance back into your pocket and realize that your "tolerance" only goes until faced with someone who disagrees with you.
If you want examples of left wingers calling me those names, I certainly can produce them and if you want me to name names, I can also do that.
So get off your high horse and realize that your ilk may think they are "tolerant" but you are not.
AlGirl: I'm sure that "the left" has called you stuff - if you say so. I'm really not concerned with what "the left" does, because I'm a moderate centrist. I really could care less what the NDP or Greens have called you. My party is, and always has been a party of the center. Your "left vs. right" analogies nicely fit the 2 piece US political spectrum (a country hungry for a 3rd party), but mean squat up here.
I also don't want to get into a "we're more tolerant than you" discussion, because we'd just have to look at intolerant comments by MPs in the past 4 elections in which the Reform movement was involved and we'd be the clearly more tolerant party. I mean, c'mon, get off your ignorant proselytizing - you guys are always complaining how "sick and tired" you have about how "overly tolerant" our society is. I think it is really precious - and just a little comical - for you to so blatantly lie about your party's "tolerance". As a person of color (me), you really don't want to have that discussion with me. You just can't win. I've been called more things by your ilk than one can imagine is reasonable... while I grew up on the Prairies.
Your overly-simplistic comments really don't help here, but, being as inclusive as I am, I DON'T delete your comments. I'm for debate - in all it's forms. I will certainly correct you each time you're wrong...
"I will certainly correct you each time you're wrong..."
And I you WG, and you are wrong about the so called "centrist liberals" not being the ones calling me those names. They are the ones who have been doing it.
There are extreme factions in all parties. I do not for one minute think that you have not been called names because of the color of your skin, I have lived long enough to have gone through the gambit of racial slurs. I wonder though, just as you do to me, how you can prove that it was right wing supporters who have done this.
There are intolerant remarks that have been made by MP's of all stripes, so please don't try to paint the Conservatives with that brush.
And cut the anti American crap- I could care less what America does - we are NOT America and I have no desire to be so, but it is interesting how it always gets brought into a debate by lefties, it is stupid that you even think that. Grow up.
So if you want to go tit for tat on the "name calling" we can do it, however please don't be so arrogant as to assume that the left holds the tolerant cards.
I do, however appreciate that you did not delete my comments and more so that you did not get into the same namecalling as I usually get whenever I venture to post a comment on a left wing blog.
I would suggest that all that name calling because I simply express my opinion shows that your comment of "tolerance" is simply not true.
Altagirl... I know they were right wingers because I was leaving their doorstep - after knocking on it during election campaigns (more than one time, and more than one campaign), and they had Reform lawnsigns. Any other questions about that?
As far as your wanting to call us "left wing", you seem to not have taken a civics or poli-sci course. Sure it is often what the NeoCon cult calls everyone else, but this is only because you guys are to the RIGHT of everyone else. If you're at the far right end of the Canadian political spectrum, then everyone is a "lefty" to you.
Correctly speaking, however, in Canada the Liberal Party has always straddled the center of the Canadian political spectrum, and is part of a worldwide group of liberal-democratic parties - in democracies. The NDP in Canada is is the "party of the left" (although they would be considered centrist by some European standards - and perhaps "socialist" by American standards). The NDP was pre-dated by the "Progressives" in Parliament.
The Liberal Party is, and always has been, a "big tent" party, with people from both the center-right, and center-left in the tent. Extremists very often stay long - however often jump on board as opportunists when their only hope of being elected is as a Liberal. We saw some of that during what was looking like a Paul Martin sweep (years prior to his narrow wins and losses).
As far as "intolerant" remarks by "MPs of all parties", one only has to go back through Hansard and the news stories to see how skewed it is in displaying conservative intolerance. Read any historical account, or political science textbook, and it will quite strongly be outlined that the definition of a conservative is one intolerant of change, resistant to change - including the change brought by new immigrants. The champions of anti-immigrant-ism in this country were conservative people. I'm not going to get into a history lesson, because there are enough modern examples (such as Reform MPs and the RCMP turban issue, or Jason Kenney recently speaking of "hot-headed Sikhs playing the racecard" like they always do). And who did these rather extreme individuals vote for (including Klansmen on the Prairies)? What party did they run for? Do I need to answer that? I don't think so.
Rather than hiding some of your bretheren's tendencies, you guys should really advertise them... it may garner more of the votes you're looking for... I don't look "foreign" to most people, so I've even been spoken with about "all these new people coming here" by Reform door-knockers while I was standing talking to my neighbor in suburban Regina... Interesting, huh?
"Extremists very often stay long - however often jump on board as opportunists when their only hope of being elected is as a Liberal."
- Bit of a typo there... Should read "extremists very rarely stay long". Extreme for me is in the social context, and encompasses left or right wing folks with ideas very disparate from a liberal democratic standpoint... and I still allow them to voice an opinion. I know a lady in Calgary Center - who is VERY anti-abortion, but am able to see eye to eye with her on a lot of other issues. I'm talking about the small contingent of anti-choicers we had, and some "economic refugees" who were PC lifers, but realized the Liberals actually did a better job of managing the economy, when I talk about people who come to the big tent. There are also other former PCs who were always economic and social liberals/moderates, and so have found a good home in the only moderate party left in Canada.
