If the CBC isn't a Liberal mouthpiece, why not keep the fire of the dire economy under the Conservatives' feet in Question Period? Let's concentrate here, folks. Why are we Liberals the first to scream with cuts to the CBC when we claim it to be "fair and balanced"?
Because we CARE about what's fair and balanced... You can say all you want about the CBC purportedly being a "Liberal mouthpiece", but in the last couple of elections studies have shown that they provided balanced coverage of all parties - actually skewed towards the Cons... The NDP also get's awesome coverage from the CBC... So, they are very unbiased.
This is what we want to protect. Our national heritage. We are the party of nation-building...
Why spend $1.1B on a station that nobody's watching?
Perhaps it's time to make the CBC a specialty channel and let those who want it pay for it.
If the Conservatives axe the CBC, where will we Liberals find our next Governor General? ;-)
