I know, I know... Everyone's talking about the accord today. Just wanted to point out a very interesting fact about what will become of the Leadership - nay, Prime Minister - Race in the next few months...
The dynamic has changed. These 3 Liberals (will more enter the race now? There is still time to "become PM") are no longer running to rebuild a party in Opposition. They are running to "renew" a party in a coalition government. This is a very interesting change to the whole dynamic. Will it change the "type" of person we're looking for? Perhaps. Will it change opinions on who should head the coalition? Of course it will.
I Support The Liberal Victory Fund
One key for Liberals, is the opportunity to build party finances in a stable environment. A party in power always tends to attract more donations. More Canadians will be wanting to buy memberships. More Canadians will be interested in our inner workings (for all 3 parties actually).
WesternGrit is interested to see if someone decides to jump into the race, now that it doesn't mean riding the opposition benches and rebuilding a party "out of power" in Ottawa...

The three parties may also spend some time on electoral reform. If this happens, it may also have an effect on the leadership race. A very different political environment will do that to leadership contests.
Another interesting aspect is the coming Conservative Leadership race. We won't necessarily be running against Harper, or some other right-wing ideologue. As Liberals, we'll need to make our choice keeping that in mind. We might find the Conservatives move back to their progressive roots, and elect someone who actually likes Canada - the real Canada. At any rate, it will be interesting to see the Reformers (Harper's henchmen) fight it out with any progressives still left in that party. Just keep in mind, that most likely Harper will NOT be around for the next election - although, judging by his dictatorial skills, he may hang on to power somehow.
Keep watching - it just got interesting...

From the preamble of the Accord:
"a belief in the role of Government to act as a partner with Canadians and Quebecers."
You have already partitioned the country! This is the first government ever to have agreed to such a thing. Woe, Canada!
This is treasonous behaviour. Shame, shame, shame. Liberals will regret the day that they undermined our country for the sake of power.
